Luke 21:12-19 (NIV) But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. And so you will bear testimony to me. But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. Everyone will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. Stand firm, and you will win life.
Christian persecution is nothing new. The Romans crucified Christians for sharing the Word, millions more were killed during the Inquisition for heresy, today. Muslims kill Christians for not submitting to Allah, but the executions that take place during the Tribulation period will pale in comparison to these atrocities. Tens of millions of Christians will die, directly and indirectly, at the hands of the Antichrist and his evil sidekick the false prophet.
During the Tribulation period Christians will be targeted and executed for their faith. Many will disavow their Christian faith to avoid guaranteed death, but others will stand firm in their beliefs and will pay the ultimate price. Christian hatred will run so deep that some will even report family members and friends to the authorities. Sons and daughters will be reported by their parents. Brothers will report sisters. Aunts and uncles will report their nieces and nephews. The scenarios are never ending and will be taking place throughout the world. Once captured, Christians will be tortured and killed, many by beheading. Christian hatred at this level has yet to occur at any time in history.
Christian persecution is growing and will continue to escalate to a level never seen before in the history of the world.
