Has technology increased over the past century? Most definitely! The industrial revolution, which began in the late 19th century, propelled the world into a rapid growth of new technology never imagined.
We live in an amazing time that was unimaginable a few decades ago. We have arrived at a time when “many will go here and there to increase knowledge.” The technology of support Daniel’s end time prophecy exists today. The scroll that was rolled up and sealed “until the time of the end” has been opened for all to read and understand. The end times are now!
The Gaza War laid the foundation for “when all nations of the earth are gathered against her.” Several nations have turned their back on this tiny nation, in favor of supporting a terrorist group who committed horrible crimes against the Jewish population on October 7, 2023. The day will come when all nations gather against her, but Jesus will “make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations.” Israel will never be uprooted or defeated.
Note, the verse above is extracted from the New King James Version because the New International Version omits the word “pestilences.” Pestilence is nothing more than a fatal epidemic disease. Can anything be worse than COVID19? Yes, the bubonic plague killed about 1/3 of Europe’s population between 1346 and 1352. Can a future plague be worse than these? Yes. The pestilence referenced in the Bible is the results of nuclear war. The "famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places" are all associated with wars as described by "nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom."
Note, the verse above is extracted from the New King James Version because the New International Version omits the word “pestilences.” It is hard to believe with the complexity of the current world-wide supply chain infrastructure and technology available that some could still experience hunger, but current economic conditions and war can impact how efficiently food can be distributed throughout the globe. If the economy is depressed or non-existent then food distribution becomes difficult if not impossible. War can force the masses to rely on their own resources to find the necessary nutrients to survive. The famines referenced in the Bible is the results of nuclear war. The "famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places" are all associated with wars as described by "nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom."
As the return of Jesus draws closer, expect “wars and rumors of wars” to increase. “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.” Expect wars throughout much of the latter days, but do not expect World War III and Armageddon to occur until the end of the seven-year tribulation period.
Always be weary of false prophets, or anyone claiming to be Jesus, because they will deceive many, even the elect or Christians. This is an important end time sign based on the number of times this warning appears in other verses: Mark 13:5-6, Luke 21:8, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2, 2 John 1:7, Matthew 24:23-27 and Mark 13:21-23.
The world will not only mock Christians for their belief in the second coming, they will also mock the Bible and its stories, specifically the story of God flooding the world because sin was so rampant. Only Noah, his family and the animals on the ark survived. Following the flood God promised in Genisis 9:11 that “never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.” This promise can still be seen today in the form of a rainbow. The proof of the story is in the sky.
Some will mock Christians for believing the second coming of Jesus is near and question why it has yet to occur. Be prepared, because the day will come when the world will openly mock and berate Christians for their beliefs. Will you be able to stand with Jesus during these times?
People will mock Christians and act on their own lusts and desires. In other words, Christians are wrong, and the ways of the world are right.
Humanity will continue to turn away from Biblical principles and will look for other alternatives to fill the hole in their spirit. Of course, nothing other than Jesus can fill the empty space in your heart.
According to God, those who denounce Biblical truths have a morally corrupt or wicked mind. This verse speaks about those who take a position against God. They are sinners and not of God’s elect.
According to God, those who denounce Biblical truths have a morally corrupt or wicked mind. This verse speaks about those who take a position against God. They are sinners and not of God’s elect. People, the world over, will resist the truth and instead embrace aggressive or inappropriate behavior.
Humanity will continue to strive to learn more about the world we live in and beyond. But this knowledge is useless if humanity does not carve out significant time to learn the truth that Jesus has to offer. The Bible teaches us how to live and respect others. As people turn away from Christian teachings civility will begin to erode giving way to anarchy.
Sexual activity beyond man and woman outside the framework of marriage is not in God’s plan. 1 Corinthians 7:2 best describes this structure as “each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband.”
Even churches can stray from Biblical truths. They seem godly, but are not. Be diligent and avoid these cold religious systems.
We all want to have fun and be happy in life, but when we become “preoccupied and obsessed with the pursuit of our own comfort, pleasure and happiness” this can lead Christians to sin.
Conceit means vanity or being excessively proud of what you do. These behaviors are not welcomed by others, nor are they behaviors Jesus exhibited.
Rash, or headstrong, is simply being obstinate toward others. We are all stubborn at times. It is always better to work with others rather than demanding we get our way.
Treacherous is defined as “guilty of or involving betrayal or deception.” One only needs to look at today’s political environment to observe this behavior.
Criminals seem to own the streets, tens of thousands are dying from drug overdoses every day, and thefts, homicides and violent attacks are on the rise. We do live in fearful times where people are “not lovers of the good.”
Violence is never the best way to approach a situation, but today with little or no retribution by the legal system, this behavior seems to be the reaction of choice for many.
Lack of self-control is the inability to control oneself, “in particular one's emotions and desires or the expression of them in one's behavior, especially in difficult situations.” We all have our moments, but the key is to react to situations in the way Jesus would have.
Slander is defined as a “false or malicious” statement. Lying or manipulating individuals can be extremely harmful and should never be directed at others.
Ephesians 4:32 sums up forgiveness, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” God only asks you to be like him.
“Without love” is a broad description which includes being unsociable, unloving, or inhuman. It also refers to the absence of love for family. Leviticus 19:18 says we should “love our neighbors as yourself.”
Unholy is defined as “not showing respect for a god or a religion, impious, sinful, wicked or dreadful.” People will choose to turn from God and follow their own path.
Those who are not thankful, regardless of the situation, can easily be summed up in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
An increased number of children raised in single-family homes has resulted in an upsurge in young adults turning to a life of drugs, teenagers participating in mob smash-and-grab robberies and children getting an inadequate education. And these are only a few of the issues that can arise when a child does not have the benefit of both parents being fully engaged in raising them with strong Biblical principles in a traditional family as God intended. So, with the odds stacked against them many adolescences are turning against their parents.
Blaspheme is to “speak irreverently about God or sacred things.” Church attendance is declining throughout the world as many make personal decisions to turn away from God. And those who do abandon Christ’s teachings must justify their reasons for doing so, many times by denouncing God’s grace, power, and existence.
The definition of pride is “having or showing a high or excessively high opinion of oneself or one’s importance.” Christians should recognize our limitations and imperfections. We should rely on God for all things.
To boast is to “talk with excessive pride and self-satisfaction about one’s achievements, possessions, or abilities.” God asks Christians to be humble, patient, respectful and above all, give God the glory in everything we do.
Covetous is nothing more than having a “desire to possess something belonging to someone else.” A neighbor’s car. A friend’s home. An executive’s life. An associate’s spouse. God is all you need to be happy.
“Lovers of their own selves” is defined as “affection and attention directed solely at self” or “lusters of self.” Nothing should ever stand between us and God, especially ourselves.
One only needs to read current news stories to understand we live in dangerous times, but as we draw near to Jesus’ return humanity will move into the realm of just trying to survive the day.
Yes, expect an uptick in the number of vegetarians. There is nothing wrong with being a vegetarian. The verse only states the vegetarian community will increase in size.
People will forgo marriage in favor of living with each other or simply moving from one relationship to the next.
People will be hypocrites. They will simply choose a side that meets their need at the time instead of choosing to follow the teachings of Jesus. There may be times when following the teachings of Jesus may be difficult, but it is the right thing to do.
Note, the verse above is extracted from the New King James Version because the New International Version omits the word “pestilences.” John, the author of the Book of Revelation, is a man who lived in the 1st century. His vocabulary was limited, and he did not understand global thermonuclear war, let alone an electric can opener. John used the words he had available to him and what he could best describe as “earthquakes in various places” are what we understand as nuclear detonations today. World War III is coming!
The hatred for the nation of Israel will continue to intensify and the Israelis will be challenged to hang onto their land until the second coming of Jesus. Enemy forces will try to erase Israel from the map, but all comers will be destroyed.
Millions of Jews were killed in the German concentration camps during World War II. Those who survived scattered around the world to countries who were open to receiving the Jewish people. God promises the Jewish people will once again return to Israel and “they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever…” This promise confirms the Israelis will never lose this land to invaders again.
Israel becoming a nation marks the beginning of end times. According to the parable, Jesus’ return is near when Israel (the fig tree in this parable) becomes a state. His return will be so close that “this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place.” Israel became a nation on May 14, 1948.
