Scriptures Unsealed: Eternal Souls

Revelation 21:1-4 (NIV) Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
John 3:16 (NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
1 John 2:25 (NIV) And this is what he promised us—eternal life.
John 6:47 (NIV) Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.
Romans 6:22 (NIV) But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
Jude 1:21 (NIV) keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
John 10:28 (NIV) I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
John 6:40 (NIV) For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”
Hebrew 5:9 (NIV) and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him
2 Timothy 2:10 (NIV) Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

True believers are promised eternal life in numerous scriptures. John 3:16 is the most popular and states, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

And the good news is God’s elect are not only promised eternal life, but “‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (ref. Revelation 21:4)

And the good news continues to get even better because we will live in “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.” Jesus promised to build a new place just for his followers. John 14:2-3 confirms this promise. "My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."

So, Christians will not only get eternal life with Jesus and God, but Christians get true peace away from the worries of this world or Satan and we get to do all of this in a new heaven and earth. Wow! His grace is overflowing and abundant.
