2 Timothy 3:8 (NIV)
Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected.

This verse refers to the false teachers who were causing trouble in the early Christian community. Jannes and Jambres are traditionally understood to be the magicians in Pharaoh's court who opposed Moses during the Exodus (see Exodus 7:11-12). By comparing these false teachers to Jannes and Jambres, Paul is highlighting their opposition to the truth and their corrupt nature. Paul warns Timothy that these individuals are resisting the truth of the Gospel and should be recognized and rejected as such due to their depraved minds and lack of genuine faith.

This verse underscores the importance of adhering to true teachings and being wary of those who distort or oppose the Gospel.
